| One thing that has started to annoy me about the World cup are the bloody horns the South Africans use. I was watching the bbc stream of the England warm up game against Platinum Stars and it sounded like a swarm of wasps had invaded my speakers. It would not be so annoying if they all managed to play a tune but it is constant noise. Give them to the England fans so they can show them how to play the dambusters theme in tune. | |

| South Africa's goal was an absolute cracker of a goal. I was hoping they would win that match after all the work they have put into making this World Cup unique. I can't wait for England vs USA later on today, hopefully we will win . Argentina vs Nigeria should also hopefully be a good match. | |

| South Africa came so close to it yesterday and I thought they snatched it in the final minutes but their player hit the post. The France and Uruguay match I missed because of work but apart from the sending off that did not seem too inspiring between the two teams. | |

| Still think England will top the group. It was just a bad error by Green that stopped us winning. SLovenia and Algeria are playing right now but I dont see them being a problem for England. Worst goalkeeping in this competiion so far. | |

| Well the Germans made a big statement tonight. Very impressed with them. If there is one team always up for a big tournament its the Germans. | |

| I have watched most of the games so far. It seems to be most teams are playing way too cautious. Even the teams that go behind a goal do not seem to be very bothered about trying to get back in it. Verdict so far is a poor start to a competition. | |

| 20 goals scored in 13 games so far which amounts to an average of just over 1.5 goals a game. It needs more goals. Looking forward to tonights game with Brazil and North Korea. | |

| North Koreas discipline was a highlight and such a shame they never got anything out of it last night. Chile showed today why they only qualified one point behind Brazil and did some attractive football.
Shock is Spain the tournaments favourites have been beaten by Switzerland. Spain always looked to have had a chance in front of goal but could not find it the best effort from Alonso hitting the bar. Nice breakaway from the swiss to score a scrappy goal and later in the game a chance to put the game beyond Spain with a superb individual effort from Derdiyok which hit the post. Here is an interesting little fact. Euro champs were knocked out in first round in 2002 and 2006. Will Spain make it three in-a-row for Euro champs exit

| South Africa have made it hard for themselves now. They could be the first host nation not to make it to the knock out stages. Just hope if that happens the South Africans dont lose their interest in the whole competition. | |

| Lol Nice comeback. Trouble is though all the other countries are taking the same motive and playing them for their own teams. I hope we dont get it in the Premier League next season. | |

| Eight goals scored so far today in the world cup. This is more like it. Lets see some more tonight with France and Mexico. Again both teams have to go for it. | |

| It looks like the final set of group games are going to line up nicely. Some of the groups are quite open and could see a few suprise qualifiers go through. | |
